I love birds and couldn't resist trying a little paper pieced songbird.
This pattern includes templates to make this 8" block. It looks great in a range of colors. Perfect size for a cushion, or make a few and turn them into a sweet little quilt. The pattern is fairly simple and so would suit a confident beginner.
